Name: Bertholdt Fubar

Appearance:
Bertholdt is tall, with a gangling lanky frame, standing at 6’3” (192cm) and only 178lbs (81kg.) He’s taller than his best friend Reiner, but much thinner built, his muscles lean rather than bulky. His face is rounded, with a sloped nose. His skin is slightly tanned compared to the other characters, and he has thick, shaggy black hair that’s cut short and feathered around his head. His eyes are green, and he very seldom has an expression that isn’t just a calm stare, though when he’s seen reacting he sweats. Bertholdt sweats constantly, most likely due to the fact that, as the Colossal Titan, his body temperature is much higher than anyone else’s even in human form. and is hardly ever seen without a bead of sweat on his face, implying that he’s probably soaked through, all the time. He’s probably pretty gross. Most of his height is in his long legs, and he’s a bit awkward when he moves.
There’s no real difference besides his age, being 30 years old rather than 16, but healso wears glasses, is 6'5", and isn’t as muscular.
As he is not the Colossal Titan, his body heat, while higher due to his thyroid issues, is not as extremely high. He sweats a lot, but probably not as profusely, and won't let off steam when he overheats. Until he receives an echo for it, at least.
Occupation: Editor at Locke City Publishing Co.
Condition: Bertholdt suffers from hyperthyroidism. He takes medication for it, but this has caused him to grow to an abnormally tall height, as well as making him suffer from these symptoms regularly:
Abilities Gained
Bertholdt regained the name "Reiner" in his memory from seeing a photo of a man who looked like Reiner Braun, his past life's best friend, but didn't truly Echo until he saw two children in the store who were familiar yet not familiar in personality to how Reiner and Bertholdt acted as children in his past life. Second Echo
Bertholdt received this Echo from the Tainted Water Plot. Once he'd drank the water, he received the odd sensation of being very very tall. Taller than buildings, taller than anything. Tall enough to make other humans look like ants that he could crush without a second thought. Permission!
Third Echo
Bertholdt regains the memory of steam, the heat and huge amount that the Colossal Titan lets off in self defense. He won't remember why the steam is there, or that he was the one emitting it, just the gigantic amount and the searing heat of it all. He Echoed because he and Ryan and Annie were talking about Giants. (Actual ones, not Titan ones.) Permission!
Fourth Echo
When Bertholdt and Ryan Brown meet for the first time, he's going to Echo being happy and liking people in Training Corps, but only vague feelings of happiness and acceptance. Permission!
Fifth Echo
When Bertholdt and Ryan Brown meet for the first time, and Ryan gets him flustered enough (he's extremely happy to know they're really, truly friends,) Bertholdt's sweat suddenly bursts off his body in a puff of warm steam. This goes along with how warm his body temperature is, and the steam he can release while in Titan form. Permission!
Sixth Echo
When Bertholdt meets Alan Hunter for the first time, he sees Alan's Scouting Legion Jacket. When he gets home, he'll find his own Scouting Legion Cloak over the chair of his desk in his apartment. Permission!
Seventh Echo
When Bertholdt meets Annabel 'Ellie' Lyons for the first time, she'll feel extremely familiar to him, like a vaguely remembered childhood friend. He'll also know her real name isn't Ellie, and that it "probably starts with A." Permission!
Eighth Echo
After talking about Titans with Ryan, Bertholdt will have an Echo similar to his second one. However this time will be more than a feeling, he'll remember gripping a very large amount of stone, telling him how huge his hands are in Titan form, and crushing it under his grip. He will also be able to see a very blurry, unclear view of Shiganshina from way up high. Permission!
Ninth Echo
Bertholdt will distinctly remember being told "That piece of gate you destroyed with your kick landed on my house... and my mom wasn't able to escape." He won't remember who said it, but he will know it was said to him and feel extremely guilty about it. He won't know the context or anything, just that phrase and the guilt. This happens after talking to Alan about his mom. Permission!

While making dinner with Ryan (cooking, like the cadets were made to do in the Training Corps,) Bertholdt cuts his finger really deeply and gets his minor healing back. Steam and everything, but only for things like cuts and bruises.Talking to Ryan and spending a lot of time with him as best friends/boyfriends like in canon brought this on. Permission!

When Ryan kisses the back of his neck, Bertholdt will suddenly find his nape/neck area very sensitive and become very defensive over it, but have no idea why. Permission!
Twelfth Echo
While talking to Ryan aboutAnnie Ellie and Titans and spies and stuff, he remembers that Ryan, Ellie, and him were some kind of team, and that they were unlike "normal" Titans. He'll know they were really close, and that they might not have been fighting for the "right" reasons. Permission!
Thirteenth Echo
ALAN SAID THE THING HE SAID "COLOSSAL TITAN." They also talked about "The Wall," whatever that is. This obviously makes Bertholdt Echo the fuck out. Bertholdt will Echo his dependency on sunlight, along with a gradual loss of appetite. He'll think the loss of appetite is from his condition but it won't get any better. Permission!
Fourteenth Echo
After seeing the lights, Bertholdt will start to feel like his skin is stretching tighter over time. He's already skinny and bony, but he knows it's different than growing pains and stretchmarks. It hurts. The Colossal Titan has no skin. Eventually, Bertholdt's will peel off but this is all for now. This will trigger a memory of being surrounded by a hot gooey heat. When Titan Shifters form their Titans around themselves, they're trapped in this web of nerves and veins and muscles.... Bertholdt won't know what it is, just the feeling of it. Permission!
Fifteenth Echo
After investigating the Tuning Tower with Ryan, Bertholdt will no longer need his glasses. Permission!
Sixteenth Echo
Talking about papoose(s?) and Titans and stuff in this thread will make Bertholdt Echo the memory of carrying Alan/Eren on his back in a makeshift sling and bring protected by Reiner/Ryan's big ol' Titan hands. Reiner/Ryan protecting him gives him a distinct sense of safeness, even more than it did before. Permission!

Watching Annie use her 3DMG will give Bertholdt his own set, and give him the muscle memory to use it. Permission!
Eighteenth Echo
Annie describing the Colossal Titan to him will give Bertholdt another physical Echo. His skin will continue to tighten and peel (like a sunburn, at this stage,) in the thin spots such as around his eyes, elbows, etc. Eventually, he'll look something like this. (Spoilery/NSFW Link) Permission!
Nineteenth Echo
After seeing Alan's Titan arm at Ryan's birthday BBQ party, Bertholdt will Echo the feeling of becoming a Titan. He won't remember how to do it, but he'll remember the feeling of being surrounded by gross goopy muscle and... Titan stuff. Gross. Permission!
Twentieth Echo
Talking to Karson and Alan about the Walls (and tearing them down,) Bertholdt will remember that humans probably... didn't build the walls. And that Titans are inside. Permission!
Twenty First Echo
Bertholdt's skin has been thinning and flaking off from a previous echo; it will actually begin to peel off. Starting with his hands and joints, which bend often, his skin will begin to peel from the muscle beneath. As for the memory: he will remember Reiner telling him he has a crush on Annie/Ellie, but he has no context behind the statement. Just, "I know you like Annie, Bertl." Permission!
Twenty Second Echo
Just the idea/feeling/sense that Ryan/Reiner forgot something important and that it made Bertholdt's former self incredibly sad. Permission!

Bertholdt will get memories of training camp, where Eren, Armin, Reiner, and him all shared a bunk together, the clearest memory being them talking about where he and Reiner came from IT WAS A LIE Permission!

Abilities Gained
- From his Fifth Echo, his body now has the ability to overheat and cause his excess sweat to burst into steam when he's experiencing a high rate of stress, fatigue, arousal, embarrassment, etc. It's not very strong, and only warms up the air around him for a brief amount of time. - From his Tenth Echo, Bertholdt now has the ability to heal small wounds like cuts and bruises. Example!
- From his Thirteenth Echo, Bertholdt will gain energy from the sun, and gradually lose his appetite to the point of not having to eat.
